I started Ernest Alexander with the simple dream of making men's accessories in the old tradition, using the finest skill and craftsmanship. My grandmother and great-grandmother were seamstresses from the old country. Growing up, our house was filled with patterns, sewing machines and heaps of colorful thread. It wasn't until later in life that I grew to appreciate how hard they must have worked to hone their craft. 

When I started my label 5 years ago I had this vision of creating the perfect men's messenger bag. I could never find the perfect everyday bag so I decided to make my own. I wanted something refined enough for work but rugged enough to stand the test of time. Clean lines. Functionality. Traditional materials blended with a slightly modern aesthetic. Something durable and good-looking. From this one idea our first bag was born,The Hudson Messenger. It took almost a year to develop. Since then we've slowly expanded our label to include a wide range of bags, travel pieces, accessories and clothing.
